A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Msgr. Stuart Swetland was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Peoria, IL. He served as Director of the Newman Centers at Bradley University and the University of Illinois. A regular personality on Relevant Radio, Msgr. recently filmed a new season for his EWTN series “Catholicism on Campus.” Currently serving at Mount St. Mary’s University, Msgr. Swetland is Vice President for Catholic Identity and Mission, holds the Most Rev. Harry J. Flynn Endowed Chair for Christian Ethics and is Director of Homiletics and Pre-Theology.

Sr. Susan of the Apostles of the Interior Life and community, are dedicated to helping souls find salvation and achieve sanctity. They have helped bring discernment and guidance to OSMM through prayer and spiritual direction. We are grateful for all the love, friendship and direction that Sr. Susan brings to us and to the ministry on many levels. 

There will be opportunities for many who attend to meet privately with the members of the AIL for individual spiritual direction.  Look for the sign-up sheets for spiritual direction early as they fill in fast!

Matthew Baute is an inspirational singer/songwriter and liturgical musician with a gentle spirit that is reflected in the style of music he plays, helping to shine a light of hope into wounded hearts.

Matthew serves as music director at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Saint Ann, Missouri. He is frequently called upon to provide music for liturgies, retreats, and conferences throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Over the past few years Matthew has come to greatly admire the prayerfulness of Gregorian chant, and he is currently focused on composing sacred music for the liturgy. With his wife Leah and new son Gregory, he strives to lead a simple, prayerful life in the midst of the busyness of the world, giving witness that God is still whispering an invitation of love to every heart.
