As you may know, OSMM is undergoing construction of a new venue for retreats and conferences. Our "Refuge of the Remnant" should be completed within the first few months of this year. We are very excited about this project, as it has been ordained by many of the holy priests that we rely on for discernment of God's Will during the past few years. Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Springfield, IL diocese blessed the building site on October 29th, 2011, during our annual conference. Progress continues at a fast pace. The roof was raised on January 16th. What a sight it was to see the trusses placed and covered. It is really taking shape! All for God's Glory! |

Construction began on Monday, December 5th, and continues at a fast pace! You can keep up to date with the progress by viewing our picture gallery, using the "Gallery" tab above. The first part of construction can be seen under the drop down menu of "Refuge of the Remnant Construction". To view the most current pictures, view "More Refuge Construction". We will keep adding pictures so you can enjoy watching the progress along with us!
Many retreats have been scheduled beginning January 20-22 with Fr. Bob Vennetti from the Shrine of the Divine Mercy and John Garcia, founder of "Sober for Christ". Fr. Philip Scott will return in April to speak of Healing the Father/Mother Wound. Of course, many other holy priests that have been with us before will be back again during the upcoming year, as well as new friends.
Fr. Ubald Rugirangoga was living in Rwanda when the genocide occurred in 1994. He will speak on Healing and Forgiveness, something that many believe would not be possible after witnessing such an ordeal. In August, the relics of St. Andre Bessette, "The Miracle Man of Montreal," will arrive in Vandalia. We are so honored to have this opportunity, as these relics have never before been to the midwestern states. September 15th is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, and we welcome back our great friend Fr. Mark Baron, MIC.
As events are finalized, information will be posted here.
Please check out this GREAT article about OSMM in the St. Louis Review, the publication of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO. Be sure to view the beautiful photo slideshow of the grounds and chapels within our ministry. The article is entitled "Healing Souls | Our Sorrowful Mother's Ministry offers a spiritual refuge for the weary heart".
